I write this today sat in the sunshine in my amazing garden office, in the more amazing Edinburgh.  If ever I’ve doubted being self-employed then today has certainly put an end to that.  I love my business, the flexibility it offers and working with really super and enthusiastic clients.  Anyway, I digress, back to the point of my writing, which is to talk about why you should never be afraid to ask for help!

Let’s admit it: when your business is growing, you might find yourself juggling too many balls. Going it alone, however, will simply not allow you to grow as you’d like. When you feel you are juggling too many balls; don’t be afraid to ask for help; every business person needs an extra set of hands once in a while and did you know that a virtual assistant could be the answer during such times?

With some workplaces becoming more stressful than ever, virtual assistants have become a must-have for certain businesses. The good news is that virtual assistants are flexible, offering a variety of business support services; from general admin tasks to data entry, diary management to name but a few there is a virtual assistant that is the right fit for you and your business.

So what is a Virtual Assistant?

A virtual assistant (commonly known as a VA) is a highly-skilled professional who provides remote business support services. They are virtual, meaning they work off-site, with most of them working from their own homes. Typically, a VA is an independent businessperson or contractor that specialises in offering a raft of differing services; including creative, administrative, technical support and so on.

Why should you hire a Virtual Assistant?

Maybe you are looking for more time for family, fun and freedom and juggling business, work, and family has never been easy.  A virtual assistant can take the hassle out of many business activities, giving you the opportunity to spend more time with family and friends.  In essence, a virtual assistant helps you strike a healthy work-life balance.

Do you want to be free to work on your business?

We have all been there; having to do tasks that don’t bolster our businesses bottom line.  Think about this; are you earning money whilst you are updating your accounts?  And I’m guessing you aren’t making any much-needed cash whilst you are creating your invoices either?  So, why not delegate such tasks to a virtual assistant?  Offload a little bit, free yourself and your time, give yourself a break!

So is a Virtual Assistant really cost effective?

A VA is undoubtedly cheaper than hiring a member of staff. Why? Well when you hire a VA, you don’t need to find space for them, purchase expensive equipment or worry about paying holiday pay or sick pay. The whole process is virtual. Worried about paying NI and tax? Worry no more – most VAs are independent contractors meaning we take care of these things ourselves. A virtual assistant is a professional, implying there is little or no training for most tasks. Just clear and concise instructions of your expectations and deadlines are all that is needed to start us off on the right track.

Could a Virtual Assistant be the answer for you?

If you feel you are drowning in a sea of paperwork and can’t see a way out then a virtual assistant could be the answer.  If you’d like to chat about ways I could help you in your business then please give me a call on 07718923220 or drop me an email at sofi@limeblueva.co.uk

To sum it up

With business environments becoming busier and more stressful than ever, never be afraid to ask for help and seek that extra pair of hands. As a virtual assistant, based in Edinburgh, I love to help people and it is not only cheaper but also a more convenient option for many businesses.
